June is a hugely busy month for Collingtree members. Competitions and matches as well as Captain’s Tour.

The men’s Izzard Trophy will take place on 7th June. This is the third in the Order of Merit medal series and a qualifier for an important County trophy. The top three players in each division (0-9, 10-18, 19-28) will qualify to play for Collingtree on 3rd Oct.

On the 13th June will be the Tildesley Trophy sponsored by Catherine (your vice Captain) and Quentin. This is a shotgun start team event, so get your entries in!

We are continuing each week with the mid week Tuesday Stableford or the 9 hole social on Thursdays.

I notice that many of you have not signed up on How Did I Do. It is linked directly to our own system. If you register then competition results are automatically emailed through to you and you will see a full analysis of your game history. Great for checking handicaps etc.

Our first social event of the season was a quiz night. Special deals on beer and burgers seemed to bring in the crowds. A very enjoyable evening and thank you for supporting it.

We are planning a car treasure hunt for the summer. A drive around the local villages to find answers to clues and back to the clubhouse for a barbeque. Should be fun for all the family.

I am pleased to announce the Club Championships will take place over the weekend of 10th, 11th and 12th July. The Mens Champions will be decided over 36 holes on Saturday and Sunday for both nett and gross. There will be a generous cut for the second day. A two tee start from 7.00 on the Sunday in leaderboard order will allow around 75 players still to be in the mix. The leaders of the scratch will be coming up the 18th around 1.15pm. A barbeque on the Sunday will be included to all entrants in the 36 holes comp whether you qualified for the final day or not. We will present all the weekend trophies for ladies, seniors and men at around 2.15. Please save the dates and make it a real club celebration.

Suggestions:
1) Double check each others competition cards before you hand them in. It must be very frustrating to get DQ’d through the card not being properly completed.

2) Don’t leave arranging dates for Summer knockouts to others. Get the contact details of your opponents from the Pro Shop and agreed a date. Those names that are still not highlighted on draw sheet have not paid. £5 per person to the Pro Shop please!
Enjoy the long evenings.
